WRAPING UP

To the cast, crew and supporters of The Separated and TRB Entertainment,LLC.

It was just about a year ago when we started filming The Separated! Allot has happened....

Our family formed a LLC. company called TRB Entertainment.
Thomas and Robert moved to Los Angeles , Ca.
We began working with other Film and production companies.
We made a web site for The Separated as a promotional tool and for the cast and crew to stay updated with material and information.
We had our official Premiere at the Stagecoach Theater and everyone was invited! Food/drink and entertainment/press provided/promotional packet provided! (15 Oct. 2005)
We had a great cast party with food and entertainment!
We took over 500 stills, made two trailers three posters, and did head shots for all the main cast. All these things are available and have been given out for free on many occasions and have been available on the web site to download and are currently available.
We allowed many cast and crew to take part in the promotion of the film..which included television, internet, radio and print. All the articles have been and are available.
We were recently mentioned as one of the up and coming film company in San Antonio by the Magazine FILMMAKERS

We had a get press and film critic showing at the Alamo Draft house( Dec, 11 2005)Bob Polansky gave us stunning reviews, as did the San Antonio Current.

Now for the bad news,

We applied to SXSW film festival and did not get accepted.
We applied for the Texas Film Grant and did not get accepted
Thomas applied to work for the Sun Dance festival.... they offered him a chance to work in the office for free as an intern to see about getting in next year! (It is unfortunatly all about who you know)
As of this date , we have spent a large amount of our budget on travel to try and get commercial distrubution...nothing yet...it looks doubtful..because of lack of funds on our part. It looks like if anything happens we have to do it ourselves.
We could not show our film at smaller theaters because of the technical equipment that is needed for digital projection. We tried to get it into Chain theaters but did not have funds to get it rated.
We have meet with over 100 possible investors and have been turn down by most all...we are still trying though.
We have tried to organize fund raisers with the Historical society, private individuals, theaters, the Rotary club and Single Action Shooting Clubs...nothing yet.
We had an investors showing (Jan. 2006) that we worked on for over two months, had 40 investors come...wined and dined them and had no response to our request.
We lost almost $10,000 dollars on The Separated!CPA verified! Altough, really it is no one business.

With all that being said and done as a wrap up to the last year...we still believe in The Separated and it’s our first film. We love it and the Hill Country. We will continue with the time we have, resources, and opportunities to do the best we can for the movie. Sorry, I am not in control of the world or I could do more. We are still the same 4 people trying to make everything work, The Separated is still a student film and it is our first feature film. Everyone in Texas that we have spoken with including the San Antonio Film Council, San Antonio Film Studio and The San Antonio Film Commission, as well as so many people and companies in Los Angeles, think very highly of our Company.

As President of TRB Entertainment, I would also like to address some negativity and gossip that has been spread about me and my company in the form of print and spokenword...
First I was in the United States ARMY for over 22 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. If anyone wants a more detail bio...I love telling my war stories ..another good film. My son Thomas graduated from Full Sail Real World School in Orlando Florida..with honors and his film Abbadon is shown as one of the schools’ tour film. We made The Separated as a demo for him to get into Graduate school.
Unfortunately, he has been snatched up by multiple production companies to work freelance on really exciting pieces, as has Robert..so no school yet. ALL of my children were in the entertainment industry and did quite well. Maybe I’ll dust off some old video/CD’s and pictures when I get a chance. We are still in contact with all of our friend and colleagues there. We may do pieces in Europe...we’ll see.
I appreciate that everyone is concerned about the film and what we do or don’t do ...but a suggestion...concentrate on your own career and life. What ever you want to do you can accomplish. To all the supportive, kindhearted people, that love film and are passionate about life, we applaud you. For those of you, who feel we or life has not done enough for you, you were treated unfairly, have no passion for film or have some personnel problem (SOUR GRAPES), I am sorry for you and I will pray for you.

As a final jester, we are finished with the final editing and dubbing for the film. We have our DVD cover and menu and have arranged for the copies of the film we promised the main cast. The film will still not be available for sale for some time. It should also not be copied. The copies you receive will be numbered and you will have to sign a release and that you received your copy. We have offered to show as a benefit to the Stagecoach theater and the city of Fredericksburgwho have been so supportive, two showings May 13/14 at 12:00p/m. Tickets must be purchased for the full price, this is not a free screening.

As a final thought it is unfortunate that because of a few individuals we must become like all the rest of the film companies. Finally, I nor anyone in my company are agents. We do not have a license to operate and this is not what the title PRODUCER represents. If any of you are continuing in a career in Film...it would behoove you to become educated and take courses in the different functions of participates in film. As a producer, I facilitate a movie being made from inception to completion and beyond. I work with actors, editors, sound, caters, set designers, agents, managers, other producers, directors etc. This was my job , I did it well. The only thing I can do for anyone is put them on our casting list for future projects, give referrals for other productions/film companies...what I can’t do is guarantee that you will get work or become some overnight “STAR” I think if you think about it it is a little absurd to expect that of yourselves or me, or my company.Thank you for supporting us and we will continue to do our best in every endeavor.
